We are excited to welcome James Russell to Serendipity Center’s Board of Directors!

James Russell is the Founder and Principal Consultant of PDX Benefits LLC, a licensed consulting firm that helps small and mid-sized businesses manage their healthcare options they offer.

Before launching PDX Benefits, James spent more than a decade as a Special Education teacher, where he developed a deep appreciation for the structures, supports, and people that allow students with complex needs to succeed. That foundation now informs every client engagement — he approaches business consulting the same way he approached the classroom: by listening carefully, building genuine partnerships, and prioritizing the long-term well-being of the people involved over short-term wins.

He joins Serendipity Center’s Board of Directors with a personal commitment to the school’s mission of blending learning and healing. As a former educator who worked alongside students with significant emotional and behavioral needs, James understands first-hand the value of the work Serendipity does — and he is eager to contribute his expertise in benefits, HR, talent retention, and operational strategy to help the organization continue to grow and to support the staff who make its mission possible.
