Annually, from 2000 until 2019, Serendipity celebrated each spring with a gala. Starting in small venues within the Portland Art Museum and ultimately growing into large venues around town, Pearls of Hope was a gathering of our sponsors during which both encouragement and support flowed generously towards our students. With Tony Martinez as our Master of Ceremonies, and Rojo and his colleagues in the foyer for llama portraits, there were traditions that brought warmth and joy to all participants. While guests reported enjoying the Legacy Library, and sponsorship opportunities for Art Therapy and the Growing Minds Garden, they also communicated interest in more direct giving to the students and program. Serendipity responded with a shift to inviting investment throughout the annual campaign and replacing a large gala with smaller, more tailored donor and outreach events. There may be a time when Pearls of Hope returns, although it is not planned for the immediate future.
THANK YOU TO ALL PEARLS OF HOPE SPONSORS AND ATTENDEES
for supporting the students of Serendipity and therapeutic education over the years.
