New Interim Co-Executive Directors Announced
We want to let you know of an important leadership change at Serendipity Center.
Serendipity’s Executive Director, Mark Takehara, has decided to leave his current role and relocate to the Seattle area to work at a nonprofit which more closely aligns with his passion: animals! We are thankful to Mark for his contributions during his time at Serendipity, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.
Effective February 17th, we will be stepping into the role of Interim Co-Executive Directors here at Serendipity Center. The Board of Directors made this decision after many thoughtful conversations and planning sessions. A committee will be formed over the coming months to determine our Executive Director needs moving forward.
With that in mind, we are excited to do the work to help Serendipity thrive! With Matty holding various operational and HR leadership roles, as well as serving as Serendipity’s Assistant Director over nearly 12 years, he will manage everything and everyone within Serendipity. Rachel’s role will expand from Director of Development to include more Board development, community outreach, and advocacy, but will otherwise stay the same.
Whether you’re curious about our next steps or simply want to say hi, we’d love nothing more than to connect with you! Stay tuned for an invite to a virtual meeting that will be open to all. Your support means everything to us, and we’re excited to embark on this journey together.
Thank you for being part of our amazing community of Serendipity Center supporters.
With deep gratitude,
Rachel Gitner and Matty Berryessa
