Introducing Serendipity’s NEW Logo!

After over 20 years, we are beyond thrilled to unveil Serendipity Center’s brand new logo! This redesign comes after months of considerations, careful designing, and meticulous employee feedback.

Our new logo (and return to our original tagline!) better represents our mission and values, including our commitment to growth, support and connection. What led us to this redesign? First, let’s explore the history of our old logo and then learn more about the inspiration behind the new design.

In 2002, Serendipity adopted the logo below. It was selected because we felt it communicated our identity and purpose on several levels.

At the time, this symbolized the understanding that to truly grasp Serendipity’s mission, we must acknowledge the traumatic events and conditions that disrupt a child’s development.

Healing occurs because special education, mental health, skills of independence, and the child’s well-being are supported fluidly and in concert.

Our students are not fractured.

After more than 20 years, it was time for our school to better communicate our mission and values in an image, and create a new tagline to bring context to that image. Here are some of the considerations we took into account for representing ourselves differently:

  • Nature evokes many ideas that are in concert with our mission, vision and implementation.
  • Serendipity supports students in ways which facilitate their growth, helping them take root in their own communities.
  • We focus on nurturing trusting relationships. We work with a host of partners to help students succeed. Similarly, plants in the forest work together with animals and their environment to grow.

Lastly, the art directions we considered included:

  • Playful lines (children)
  • Inspired by nature (tie to Growing Minds Garden)
  • Support + Connection (shown through overlapping colors)
  • Modern Traditional style (might read more as “school” rather than treatment center)

After months of considerations, careful desgining and employee input, the new logo was developed!

We also made the decision to return to our original tagline.

We are so thankful to all who had a hand in the creation of our new logo – THANK YOU to our amazing designer, staff who provided meticulous feedback, and champions of this massive project!
