Welcome Serendipity Families

Welcome Serendipity Families
Because our students come from many school districts, we realize that some areas may be more affected by inclement weather. We encourage parents and guardians to use their best judgment and understand if some students are unable to attend school today.
Serendipity families have the following options for obtaining information about closures, late openings, and early dismissals:
Serendipity staff participate in many meetings with our families, to plan and coordinate care. At a minimum, you will be invited to attend at least one annually.
Serendipity maintains two Clothes Closets, one in Upper School and one in Lower School. The Closets hold donated clothing that is available for any students or families who could use it. Both students and families may request to visit the Clothes Closet by talking with their case managers.
Serendipity maintains a small account to assist families in need of emergency support. Often, this takes the form of gift cards for groceries or assistance with utilities and/or other necessities. Additionally, from time to time, we provide fresh produce and items from our Growing Minds Garden to supplement families’ nutritional needs. Please talk with your case manager if you are experiencing a need. They can also recommend additional resources for support.
Serendipity wants to answer any questions you have. Please reference our F.A.Q. page and feel free to contact us anytime with your questions. The main phone number is 503.761.7139 or you can use the Contact Us Page to reach Serendipity.
Serendipity understands that at times, students and families may have questions or concerns about various aspects of our programs or other experiences. Click on the Complaint Form button below, which will initiate an exploration and efforts towards resolution. This form can be used for any type of concern, but in particular it can be used to address an issue with respect to Serendipity’s policies prohibiting bullying, discrimination, and harassment.
While Serendipity’s policies are summarized and explained in the Student & Family Handbook, it is important for some policies to be available in their complete form.
Click on the policies button below for deeper information about important aspects of our work and any policies that have been recently revised or added.
