On August 4th, Serendipity completed our 2022 Summer of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) with a group photo on our Nike Playground! Students completed summer science class projects, including fascinating works of engineering. Boats, marble runs, and more were the order of the day during class demonstrations this morning in our dining room.

Our Room 6/7 teacher couldn’t be prouder of their students’ work, commenting that “we try to keep things fun and exciting for kids who come to school over the summer, and science was the way to go! The whole class had fun with experiments like kaleidoscopes, foil boats, pom pom launchers, and so much more! Each week, the kids loved hearing about the new theme. We snuck some learning into the science experiments along the way too, even if the kids may have not noticed!”

Kevin, our Principal, noted “this was an ambitious summer program after a challenging year. We catered to the needs of 35 students attending for both extended school year and COVID-19 related recovery services. I was so impressed by the enthusiasm and energy our students brought, and by the staff’s boundless energy and creativity. We had marble runs, paper plane challenges, boat design competitions, and so many other projects teaching science and engineering skills in an and engaging way. All-in-all, It was an incredible summer of creating, investigating, problem-solving, and FUN! The students loved it!”

Serendipity administration will be closed for summer vacation until August 22nd. We are excited to welcome families back to school on September 7th! In the meantime, please feel free to email us at info@serendipitycenter.org with any questions.
