Serendipity is a private therapeutic school, serving students from up to twenty two metro-area public school districts. Currently, 100% of the referrals we receive are generated by public school districts who have determined that their district can no longer meet the needs of a specific student.
Once Serendipity receives a referral, it is reviewed by our Intake Coordinator. Next, a screening meeting is scheduled with a school district representative, parent/guardian, and other relevant team members (therapists, CASA volunteers, attorneys, county caseworkers, etc.). Then, the student is scheduled separately for a tour and visit of Serendipity’s campus.
Our admissions team next reviews the information that has been gathered, and determines if Serendipity can provide a program that will produce successful outcomes for the student. If the student is accepted into the program, his/her start date is typically scheduled within approximately one week of his/her visit.
If you are interested in considering Serendipity as a resource for your child, our Intake Coordinator Kristin Harquail would be glad to help you find the right contacts in your child’s school district to discuss options. We’d also be glad to schedule a tour for you to explore our campus.
