Prior to the safety concerns brought with COVID-19, Serendipity hosted several events annually. Some we hope to restore, and some have at least for now run their course.
Youth Opportunity Breakfast
(targeted for return in Spring 2023)
Serendipity’s Youth Opportunity Breakfast is an event whose purpose is to engage our colleagues and stakeholders in a discussion relevant for both therapeutic education and this community. Past topics have involved the impacts of poverty on student learning and overcoming trauma. Our last YO Breakfast was hosted in 2020 and featured the topic: ‘A Time to Heal: Cultivating Resiliency through a therapeutic school garden.’
Pearls of Hope
(suspended annual gala)
Serendipity’s Pearls of Hope was a special event held in the spring. It gathered donors and supporters to learn more about the mission, to support the successful conclusion of the annual campaign, and to publicly recognize extraordinary volunteer efforts. In 2019, the final Pearls of Hope coincided with Serendipity’s 40th birthday. A celebratory video and commissioned portraits depicting transformational change helped our guests see our students and mission with greater insight.
